Lazer Says Goodbye

Lacey Scarlet Ruffles (Lazerpoodle) will be put to rest tomorrow. Kindly think good passing thoughts for us please, as we hold our heart dog, untlil she sheds her mortal coil, and leaves this world. May her beautiful spirit soar to the next. Sweet sixteen and often been kissed. (When she'd allow it. Feisty, very feisty.) We bathed and groomed her, did her teeth, ears, the works. She's as beautiful now as she was in 1993. -Which is pretty darned gorgeous- inside and out. She's had all her favorite foods, her last action adventure, her last ride in the sunshine, her last walk in the grass, and her last groom- sixteen years and a month of daily brushing and daily brushes with fun and joy. What a Poodle. What a Poodle.

We will miss our beauty girl more than words may say. We got her a doughnut this evening. Always one to do the most fun things at the same time, Laze ate her tiny doughnut bite and peed- chewing and whizzing simultaneously combusting. The bite of doughnut was too good to stop to request a time out for dog duties.- priorities. We laughed till we cried. She looked at us with her blind eyes, heard us with her deaf ears, tilted her head and did a play bow and one bark. The "Hey, what's the big deal?! I'm announcing myself to the world " bark I've heard from day one in the spring of ninety-three, when she ran through the fallen crabapple blossoms and got pink petals stuck on her nose, and we laughed. She gave us the bark then, too. We gave her a kiss, then two. Same deal tomorrow.

Will be off the pbb a while. (The better to compose myself, but those of you who've read my compositions know that's unlikely! LOL Phew.) Will return one day soon and with pix and of course with lots of etc. Don't worry that we've gone. Don't be sad for us. Heart dog Lazer, more than we, understands that life is a spin, a poodle zoomie, a circle! Poodles teach us to enjoy the small things (also to enjoy the miniatures and the standards) every blessed day we have to spend with them! LP~

LP, my heart aches for you and doodleman. This is the hardest part of giving your heart to a dog. Lacey had a beautiful life from start to finish. She was loved and cared for as every dog should be, but few are. She will be missed.
